GEORGIA RADIO - Celebrate our Georgia history by visiting one of our colonial-era coastal forts this Labor Day! Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites would love to see you this weekend at the Fort King George Historic Site, the oldest British fort remaining on Georgia's coast.
"Celebrate Laborer's Day on September 2nd by watching demonstrations on woodworking, wool-spinning and pottery at this kid-friendly site." Says Georgia State Parks in a recent news release. The Fort Morris Historic Site is also a great option. It's an early American fort built to protect the new country from British soldiers. You can tour the earthwork remains and museum all against the backdrop of it's beautiful coastal setting.
If you're up for camping, reserve your primitive campsite and send the weekend watching the sunrise over the Medway River marsh, all while celebrating some Georgia's incredible history.
