GEORGIA RADIO - There’s just something about summer in Georgia that begs for a little sunshine, a riverbank, and a country tune turned up loud. Whether you’re floating the Chattahoochee or grilling out with neighbors, it’s the soundtrack that sets the tone—and this year, real country music is alive and well across the Peach State.

Back in '93, Alan Jackson gave us the perfect Georgia summer anthem with “Chattahoochee,” and more than 30 years later, folks are still hollering “way down yonder” like it was written yesterday. That song didn’t just talk about summer fun—it defined it for a generation.

Today, a new crop of artists is keeping that tradition alive. Folks like Texas native Zack Top are turning heads with steel guitar, fiddle, and lyrics that sound like something you'd hear on a back porch in Carroll County. Meanwhile, Georgia's own Cole Goodwin is carving out his place as a modern-day torchbearer for true country. His songs are equal parts grit, heartache, and small-town pride—the kind of stuff that still makes your granddaddy nod in approval.

From local dance halls and county fairs to streaming playlists and tractor radios, country music rooted in tradition is having a moment. It’s proof that while styles may shift, the soul of country—real country—still runs strong, especially here in Georgia.

What are your favorite summer songs? We want to hear from you! Whether it’s an old-school anthem like "Chattahoochee" or a new favorite from artists like Zack Top or Cole Goodwin, send 'em our way. We’ll make sure they find their way onto the Georgia Radio playlist.

Drop us a line and help us build the soundtrack to a real Georgia summer!
